Initial Investigation Work – Fixed Fee
Sometimes, even though someone suspects that a person has been a victim of financial abuse, it can be very difficult to prove. There may be very little independent evidence, often it being one person’s word (the victim) against another (the alleged perpetrator). The victim may often be reluctant to speak out, or they may have issues of capacity which mean they can’t remember what has happened.
Even though a crime may have been committed, often the police do not have the resources to investigate matters properly, or there isn’t enough evidence to secure a conviction.
In these circumstances, it may be possible to bring a civil claim to seek recovery of the money.
Litigation is expensive and can be emotionally exhausting. At Ridley & Hall, we are experts in early dispute resolution, seeking to find alternative solutions to your problem without resorting to court proceedings.

If you would like us to investigate the matter further, to decide whether it is worth pursuing the alleged perpetrator to recover the money back, we are able to offer a fixed fee for investigating the matter.
The fixed fee includes the following:
- An appointment with you to take details of the situation and to advise what evidence we will require
- Reviewing the evidence and advising you appropriately
- Writing to the alleged perpetrator, setting out the details of the suspected financial abuse and demanding that the money to be repaid
The cost of this work is £900 (£750 + VAT)
