Ridley & Hall were proud to be invited to open the Alzheimers Society Memory Walk at Beaumont Park on Saturday 15th September. Nigel Priestley gave an inspirational pre-walk speech to the wide array of participants, aged between 3 and 83. With the September sun taking the afternoon temperature up to pleasant 16 degrees Celsius and an 11mph westerly wind, it was optimum conditions for a walk around one of Huddersfield’s hidden gems.

The park was gifted to the people of Huddersfield in 1879 and officially opened in October 1883. The Memory Walkers enjoyed sights such as the new band stand, the blast wall air raid shelter and the castellated lower gate connecting the park to Meltham Road.

10 members of staff, 8 family members and one dog represented Ridley & Hall at the event and raised £306 for this well deserved cause!

The Alzheimers Society is one of Ridley & Hall’s main charities. We have previously donated to the society during our Free Wills Week events, as well as 10k runs and look forward to assisting them again in the near future.
